jamieyates79
I've recently setup my UNRAID server on a Gen 8 HP Microserver. Specs below: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=c03793457 I hadn't realized but only two of the ports on the server are SATA 3 (6GBPS throughput) whereas the remaining two are SATA 2 (3GBPS). I currently have 3 x 3TB WD Red HDD's and a 500GB WD Red SSD as a cache. 3TB WD Red Parity disk 3TB WD Red Storage disk 3TB WD Red Storage disk 500GB WD Red Storage disk I'm guessing that I'd be better off using the two SATA 3 ports for the cache and a storage disk, meaning the the other storage disk and parity drive will be on the slower SATA 2 ports. Can anyone advise on the best approach here? Help and guidance much appreciated Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
It doesn't matter for spinning rust, it would for SSDs. Quote Link to comment
