andyfore
I recently acquired two 14TB host managed SMR (or host aware) drives and have found that while they are recognized in the bios they are not recognized in the OS. Can anyone shed some light on how I might enable support for these drives? My understanding is that the kernel level and underlying filesystem releases themselves would support them, but that the kernel might be missing the CONFIG_BLK_DEV_ZONED option? I haven't compiled a kernel in ages, great DEVs have made it where I haven't needed to in years. Thanks for any help... Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
AFAIK Unraid doesn't officially support HA-SMR, also of the current filesystems Unraid supports only btrfs has HA-DMR support, since kernel 5.12+ (currently only Unraid v6.10-rc uses a newer kernel), but not sure if there are any missing options.
