March 13, 20242 yr I got the same Question. Got 2 optical drives, one via S-ATA and the other one with USB. I can see the drives with 'lsscsi' and even can mount them via the prompt, but I cannot see them at Main with "unassigned devices" i also cant use them in makemvk, because they dont show there via mc i can browse the dvd...
March 13, 20242 yr UD does not mount optical drives. The best way to use them is to with a VM or Docker Container. Once you start makemkv, the log will show the two devices needed for makemkv to be able to use the drive. You then specify the drive designations of the drive you want to use in the template. Post on the makemkv forum for additional infoirmation.
