As I enter into adding the 9th and 10th drives into my array with standard issue hardware, I'm noticing that the two new drives will not enter spindown mode as the others would after a certain period of time? Has anyone else noticed this or is it "as intended"?

    Using the Promise cards as originally specced my computer hasn't got this issue FWIW.

    Try shutting down the server and powering up again. That happens to me every time I add or change drives, after the 1st power down/up cycle everything is ok.
