Theldron
Hi all, Hope you are well. I have started spinning down my drives after 30 mins when not in use to try to save power. But I have noticed that 1 drive (a Toshiba 4TB) is having read errors, when spun down. I tried to run a movie from it to see if it would spin back up, but it seemed to struggle and the errors increased from 5 to 37. I have run a self-test and it is fine. I have attached the diagnostics, any help would be appreciated. Thanks fred-diagnostics-20220409-0606.zip Quote Link to comment
Solution JorgeB Posted April 9, 2022 Solution Share Posted April 9, 2022 It's logged as a disk issue, though the disk looks healthy, recommend running an extended SMART test to confirm, if OK just disable spindown for that disk. Quote Link to comment
Theldron
Thanks for your reply @JorgeB. I have run an extended SMART test and it completed without error. I have disabled spindown on that drive. Thanks again. Edited April 9, 2022 by Theldron Quote Link to comment
