Reset root password

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I am newbie and first installing Unraid. While Unraid is working on formatting/parity sync'ing, I changed the dhcp to static ip and then can't login. It keeps saying invalid password and usersname. My questions is, is it safe to unplug usb (with a possibility system is still doing parity stuff)?

Thanks,

Khoa

Not while the system is powered up

Best approach is to use dhcp and reserve ip by mac address in router.

Thanks Trurl. As I can't login to verify or shut down, so just have to take a risk unplugging usb and reset root password. In worse case, I will have to start over again, please advise if that's OK?

Cheers,

Khoa

Short press of the power button should trigger a safe shutdown.

Won't help since Unraid won't mount or be able to read the flash drive after you unplug it.
