May 21, 201115 yr hello, I upgraded to 5.0 beta 6 and my disk 1 drive (which post upgrade came up as once of the good MBR's) threw an error about fsk. I looked up the error (it was on md1) and saw that the solution was to run the reiserfsk --check - and it came back with a note about running it again withe rebuildtree switch... I did that and it seemingly got stuck on the ####PASS 1#### for several hours so i rebooted ... UNRAID rebooted and it noted md1 was on an un-formatted disk. I figured this was a common occurrence for a freshly rebuilt (post reiserfsk rebuildtree) file system disk so I checked the "I am sure" and formatted. The web gui then became unresponsive after attempted format so i rebooted. Can i just call this disk a wash and replace it at this point? If I do - will the replacement disk have the same jacked up file system the old disk did?
May 21, 201115 yr Your replacement disk will be an exact mirror of your current disk, filesystem errors and all. It's best if you actually let the fsk finish.
May 21, 201115 yr Author thanks well it looks like it saw the drive as blank so once it formatted i now have a clear 2TB drive - all my files are gone Is there anyway to get it back from the parity or i am just screwed?

As long as you have not written to the disk there is a good chance of getting your files back. You need to run reiserfsck with the option to scann the entire disk for files. It is basically described here in the wiki: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=FAQ#How_can_I_undelete_files_from_an_unRAID_disk.3F
May 26, 201115 yr Author Thanks Joe. I figured it was show and just started over. It was 2TB but stuff I hardly watched. Oh well, lesson learned for next time! Mark
