August 15, 20223 yr Author It actually works, nvidia-smi / watch does show the trans-coding and the plex (hw), I just had to mark my player to lower quality and not original.
August 16, 20223 yr I also followed this exact tutorial. I just realized that Plex is simply failing to transcode when I try to convert Atmos/5.1/etc to a pc supported format. Might also be something with x265.
August 17, 20223 yr Author Mine is x264 from a GoPro and these videos are fairly short and I would miss the blip on the transcoders. If I was to watch a longer video of 2 minutes plus it would show briefly until the cash is into RAM for the video card and transcode. Previously I was doing direct view at its original resolution and no transcoding was needed that's why I was not seeing it. Stepping down to 720 or 1080p it would show.
