nas_virgin
Hi, Just a small query re the Licence Info: Quote Attached storage devices refer to the total number of storage devices you are allowed to have attached to the server before starting the array, not counting the USB Flash boot device. There are no other limitations in the software based on license type. Does that also mean that cached drives and parity drives are considered as part of "attached storage"? So a basic unraid license with 6 possible attached storage devices would be considered "full (at tier limit)" if said system had 2 x cache drives, 2 x parity drives and 2 x data storage drives?? Sorry for the dumb-ass question 🙂 Quote Link to comment

Yes, also any attached unassigned drives are counted when you start the array. After you start the array you can attach additional unassigned drives such as external USB drives for making backups, transferring files, etc. Quote Link to comment
nas_virgin
Quote Me l@@ks at reply... scratches head and goes huh? LOL @trurl So post bootup/start-array and one does something silly like adding say 6 USB drives, and attaches them as unassigned..... and the next time the nas/server is rebooted... the array won't start?
