June 11, 201115 yr Ok new to unraid and needing a pointers. I have been having some parity issues and just wondering if this is something that is typical or I need start getting serious in finding why they are happening. The problem first started with a bad memory card, which I have replaced and obtained a new, once that was in place i did a "correcting" parity check and it fixed 54 errors and took about 22hrs to complete, I then re-ran a parity check again (non correcting) this time not finding any issues, feeling happy I resolved the issue and must have been fixed with the memory card replacement, however that did not last long... a couple weeks later I decided to do another check for good measure and sure enuff I got 17 errors , I proceeded down the path of (correcting) parity and checking with non-correcting parity check and again it showed as resolved with non errors on second non-correcting scan. Today (4 days later since last parity check) I ran a check just for kicks and I have parity errors again (54 this time), any ideas as to if this normal ? should I start to look at my hardware components ? I typical copy about 10 to 20gb a day , any help is greatly appreciated. Unraid 5.6 under ESXI (virtualized)

June 16, 201115 yr How are your disks being presented to the VM? VMDirectPath/VT-d passthrough? Raw Device Mapping?
June 16, 201115 yr Author I'm using the br10i ( dual cards) in passthru mode.. just curious if its typical to get parity error now and then and if so how much shd be tolerable ?

Did you try "unvirtualize" your machine and test it? Yes, I have tried it un-virtualize , and still the same. Now that I know these are not suppose to be, I will take a deeper look at my memory as this is the first place I suspect will cause these.
