so just set machine up last week using the above as my cahe drive and while my other drives sit at around 26c this sits around 39 and will jump up to 46-47c when in use, is this correct or will i swap it out

I have several and they are all usually between 35 and 45, so looks normal, and very far from max temp.

I have one of these in a node 804. At idle sits at 35c, however under heavy load peaks at around 45.

Yours seems slightly higher, but my drive sits around a lot of airflow so seems normal.
