jwhite175
Hi, I just updated to 6.11 stable and the system will not boot at all. Not even a boot choice screen. When I turn on the tower it just loads the motherboard bios setup screen. Exit that to boot unraid and the screen goes blank for about 10 seconds then loads the bios setup again. I downloaded the most recent backup from the myservers page and tried to load it but after the boot dialogue does its thing, type in root for the user, hit enter, get the "#" prompt and hit enter but it does nothing. I then tried my password and that doesn't work either. What should I do to fix this? Unraid Pro license ASUS z-590-P motherboard 11 Gen i7 11,700 cpu at 3.6GHz 32g of DDR @3200 Any other system info needed? Quote Link to comment
Solution JorgeB Posted September 26, 2022 Solution Share Posted September 26, 2022 Backup config folder from current flash drive, redo it with v6.11.0 using the USB tool or manually then see if it boots, if yes restore the config folder from the backup. Quote Link to comment

Hydranmenace
I am having the same issue JorgeB. And I am kind of an idiot. I want to make sure I understand what you're saying like you're telling a 5 year old. Pull the USB from server pc Plug USB into another pc Copy the "Config" folder Paste into a different location for later Download the unRAIDServer-6.11.0-x86_64.zip Run whatever script you need to install (In my case the linux one) This should install 6.11 to the usb key See if this boots on the server pc if yes, move the previously saved Config folder onto the USB key Try booting again and everything should be back to normal? Yes? I am just very concerned I will break everything. Quote Link to comment
jwhite175
Those are the steps I took and it worked but just one point of clarification. Delete the config folder on the new package then move your old config into it. Quote Link to comment
Hydranmenace
Thanks. For whatever reason the linux make bootable script didn't work but I could use the media installer from my wifes windows laptop. I am back up and going as well. I appreciate your response and help. Quote Link to comment
