November 4, 20223 yr My hardware is an old laptop -- lenovo ideapad Y480n (produced in 2012) Wired network drive: atheros ethernet controller Wi-fi hardware: intel 2200 BGN The version of UNRAID is 6.11.1 When i plug Ethernet cable in the RJ45, unraid GUI still says no network How to solve this problem, I can't even get a trial license...
November 7, 20223 yr Unfortunately @llIIll117, you might be out of luck 😞 Unraid requires an active internet connection (via ethernet only) to initiated the trial. Looking at the Lenovo drivers website, there doesn't appear to be any linux drivers for your laptop.

The strange thing is ,my y480 installed linux when i bought it from dealer🙃 Anyway, thanks for the help👍.
November 8, 20223 yr My knowledge of Linux and the USB config is very limited. It "might" be hackable (i.e the network driver side of things), but only long term Unraid users would be more knowledgeable. Edited November 8, 20223 yr by PhilipJFry clarification
November 9, 20223 yr The chipset of the ethernet card should be the ar8161 which should work with alx drivers in linux and unraid should have these included if I'm not wrong.. Can you post diagnostics file?
