Array with empty disk spot

Featured Replies

I have an extra disk spot in my array. I think this is preventing auto starting and I would like to remove it without using the data. Is that possible and what would the steps be?

Unraid is quite happy to have gaps in the list of assigned drives, so something else is going on.

Can I shrink the array without losing data and remove that empty drive spot?

Yes if you use the New Config tool and change the disk assignments to the slots you want.  The data on the drives will be left intact.   However changing the drive slots invalidates parity2 so that needs rebuilding after making the change.
