December 6, 20223 yr Hi all I want to change my root password to something stronger. Amy good advice before? Something to consider? Thanks!
December 6, 20223 yr Community Expert Good idea. What type of problem are you worried about and what type of security risk is your server facing? Be sure to install the Fix Common Problems plugin. There is a setting there for "Number of allowed invalid logins per day:". Be sure to set that up. Next be sure to secure any backups of your flash drive as the password is stored. If that file is acquired by the 'bad guy', cracking your password is only a matter of time. (If you have a long password word using letters, numbers, symbols and Caps, this could be centuries. Basically, 'he' would run the password generating algorithm, testing random passwords looking for the combination that generates the hash found in the password file..)
