NEED Drive rebuild help. Halp!

Featured Replies

I'm on 6.11.5 My disk 2 was an 8tb and it dropped into emulation from errors twice. Both times I started the array with it missing, stopped the array. Put it back, started again, no issues. However, I decided to replace it with the same drive model, but 12TB (HGST ALE600).My rig is a tower with an LSI 8 lane HBA connected to 8 drives in a drive tower.I replaced the drive, checked all sata cables, all drive cables, power cables, etc. I knew that just disconnecting them and reconnecting had potential for issues, but I've never had any with 2 UNraid rigs, so I felt good about my cables. This is my 2nd Unraid. When I built this, I bought new HBA SATA (split) cables. No issues with reading up until now.So, when I installed the new drive and fired up, it showed a blue box on drive 2 as expected. I did a format and parity and followed UNraid normal questions and confirmations on a new drive. I knew it would take around 19hrs, so I checked a few times after it started, and I let it go until the next day. When I checked again, expecting it to have finished, it showed that it had stopped. So, I restarted the parity check. It also showed a bunch of read errors on drives 3 and 5, which I've never had before. When I re-started the check, it dropped into a Read check, which I've also never seen or had, but I assumed it was because of all the read errors. By 75% of the way through, all read errors had stopped, and it looked like the drives were all syncing reads. I forgot to mention that during the Read check, I noticed the log was 100% full. I knew that would go away on a restart, and I knew it was likely from read errors. The Read Check finished, and I just checked logs, and it was from read errors. However, disk 2 is STILL in emulation, but shows 83.7Gbs have been written to it. NOW, I don't know what to do. I've run SMART tests on drives 3 and 5, and no errors. All the errors stopped during the read check. HOWEVER, if I restart now, HOW do I force a rebuild on drive 2 now? A bunch of files and content are missing, as that drive was over 50% full. If I restart the array with it unselected, won't UNraid log the current 83.7Gbs of files and write that into the config? And then, if I turn it back on, won't it just try and replace the 85Gbs? I'm really confused on what to do here, I'd really like to force getting that data back on Drive 2. Am I just screwed even though Disk 2 is still in Emulation? Thanks very much for any guidance. I feel really dumb at the moment.

Looks like disk2 was formatted, please post the diagnostics.
