Will setting SATA Mode to AHCI cause issues

Featured Replies

I just got new SATA SSDs and installed them into my home NAS, after booting the BIOS did not show my drives. I tried various things to troubleshoot, but switching my SATA mode from RAID to AHCI allowed them to be recognized.

Will this cause any issues when I make a RAID pool later?

It is not clear if you are using unRAID but it does not support RAID for array drives.  After all, it is "UN" RAID.

Unraid usually won't support those hardware assist raid.

No issue. AHCI, raw mode ... always correct.

Thank you! I don't know why, but the MOBO manufacturer set the SATA Mode to RAID by default. -.-
