July 16, 201114 yr I got 2 disk which are almost full of data i've put in a third disk, so i have more space when i try to copy from my pc, to unraid, he doesnt put it automaticcaly to the third data disk, instead he tries to copy it to disc 2 although there isnt enough room there this is my setup \AllData\Fotos \Homevideos \Muziek \Media Media is split up in \Concerts \Movies \Series \Trailers You find the movies for example in \Movies\Alien\.. \Alien2\... and so on For fotos you have Fotos\Year\X\ then the pictures Then the options AllData (highwater, split level 3) Something is wrong i guess I can't get rid of the first "alldata" cause the dune cant access multiple shares, so all have to be under 1
July 16, 201114 yr There's your issue. Set it to something appropriate. The typical wisdom was make it twice the size of the largest file you will be copying.
July 16, 201114 yr It's no the free space. Look for empty directories on disk2 for the new media you are trying to move. Once the first move failed you ended up with an empty directory and your split level is dictating that disk2 must be used since that directory now exists on disk2. Peter
July 16, 201114 yr Actually it's both, free space first then split-level. The incorrect free space entry instructs the system to keep trying to use a full disk to store files and directories. Once those are created, the system keeps using that directory. If free space was configured properly to begin with, then there wouldn't be the issue with split level settings.

July 17, 201114 yr You could also try just switching the allocation method to most free. I'm pretty sure the high-water allocation method resets when a disk is added to the share, meaning it's looking for the first disk with over 1/2 the free space of your largest disk available (likely the first disk with over 1T free).
