Mistake made when adding new drive to array

It has been a while since I've added a new drive and it appears I've screwed something while doing so as a result.

The steps I followed were:

- Shutdown server and add new drive

- Run preclear with two passes with the drive in the unassigned devices area

- Stop array, add drive to array, start her up again.

 

I think I was suppossed to add the drive to the array before running the preclear, unless I'm missing something. Either way, the screen shot is what I've ended up with. How can I resolve this?

The sequence of steps you did was correct if using preclear.    However the pre-clear fills the disk with zeroes (i.e. no file system present) so you now need to format the drive (which should be quick) to create an empty file system on the drive.   What you have forgotten is the last format step in the process (which is documented here in the online documentation available via the 'Manual' link at the bottom of the GUI).
