Hermis
Hey Unraid community! I've been using Unraid for 1.5 years now and have been running popular dockers and the Sonarr-Radarr suite. However, I made a few mistakes during the initial setup as a newbie, one of which was not properly setting up Docker users. As a result, I want to start fresh and ensure that all the necessary users are set up properly. My question is whether I can create a new server on a trial USB and transfer my key once the setup is complete. I want to make sure I don't lose any data during the transition. Any advice or guidance on this process would be much appreciated. Thank you! Edited just now by Hermis Quote Link to comment
Squid
Yes you can do that. Alternatively you can also simply delete the contents of /config on the flash drive (with the exception of the .key file and the go file) which restores you back to defaults on every setting / docker template. Your existing data on the array / pools is completely safe and still present after reassigning the drives appropriately 1 Quote Link to comment

Install docker apps, shares and I didn't create any users-groups and I didn't modify any write/read restriction to anything. All left with their "vanilla" settings on install. Which if I had understand correctly is bad for security reasons... Edited March 2, 2023 by Hermis Add Quote Link to comment
trurl
root user is the only user that can do anything with the Unraid webUI or command line. Specific docker applications might allow different users to login to the applications UI, but that would be maintained within the application. And many VMs would also allow different users to login, but that would be maintained with each VM. Unraid itself is not a multiuser OS, but it does allow different logins for network file access (its NAS functionality). Quote Link to comment
