SLNetworks
I'm often flooded with notifications of my cache drives being in a degraded state, healthy, and degraded. The process repeats. I'm almost to the point where I'd like to disable them all together.. but that won't solve the underlying problem. I believe my docker.img lives on them, but I could be wrong. I know my appdata is cache preferred. My meta data for my media library is stored on the array, along with anything related to downloading. Any downloaded has been told to go straight to the array. Tips or tricks? Quote Link to comment
apandey
Post diagnostics after you have seen the notifications Quote Link to comment
SLNetworks
I don't get logs for these notifications for the cache drive array. I'd check MCE, but I don't know how that works anymore since the revamp.. though another post I saw a few days ago pretty much told the person to go into their normal logs. Quote Link to comment
apandey
We can guess, or you can post diagnostics after you seen the issue Quote Link to comment
SLNetworks
Good news! The logs are showing them now. Diagnostics are in.. unraid-diagnostics-20230322-2358.zip Quote Link to comment

SLNetworks
Err.. I ain't seen a warning for SDA! o.0 Got a brand you recommend? NVMe or SATA-Doms work yet? It's been SDB going yellow-gree-yellow-green in my notification boxes. -- Maybe the MCE I got a few days ago was triggered by the USB drive. JorgeB
Lately I've been using the Sandisk Cruzer Blade, which is basically the only USB 2.0 flash drive I can still find, but note that there are some reports of fake Sandisk flash drives being sold, not sure if this model is affected. 1 Quote Link to comment
SLNetworks
Alright. Since SDA is my boot drive (no notifications about it, just an MCE a week ago), that response while helpful as it is (thank you), doesn't address SDB (one of two cache drives). Quote Link to comment
apandey
I see sdb is a crucial ssd. Are those notifications SMART errors like these by any chance? Quote Link to comment
SLNetworks
*facepalm* Fuck Crucial.. or have they behaved since then? Unraid Cache 2 SMART health [197]: 27-03-2023 02:21 Warning [UNRAID] - current pending ecc cnt is 1 CT250MX500SSD1_************ (sdc) Yep, that they are. However, when I try to de-select items and click Apply, they get re-selected. Not sure if it's a bug or not. I noticed my system wouldn't let me upgrade to 6.12.0-rc2 either. So I also have three pending plug-in updates. I need to see if someone has replied to me on that issue also. Edited March 27, 2023 by SLNetworks Added images Quote Link to comment

I also have a MX500 ssd, and I have pending sector warning disabled in disk settings For RC, you need to select Next channel instead of Stable channel in settings. That will offer the RC. Or Do you mean it's offered but you cannot upgrade because of incompatible plug-ins? Quote Link to comment
SLNetworks
I tried disabling that in Settings > Disk Settings and under Main > Cache/Cache2 (on a per drive basis), but the settings don't stick in Firefox and Chrome. As for trying to upgrade to 6.12.0-rc2, see image for fault. Quote Link to comment
apandey
I think you should first fix your flash drive. Those errors on sda probably mean your flash drive is broken, so settings changes or any updates cannot be written there 1 Quote Link to comment
SLNetworks
Yeah, I should do that first.. heh *drives ordered* Quote Link to comment
SLNetworks
*still waiting for drives to arrive* In the mean time, are there any issues that would hinder my update in the image below? Just curious if something could be fixed while I wait. Quote Link to comment
apandey
Those seem like plug-ins that need updates, but cannot since the usb flash drive is broken Quote Link to comment
SLNetworks
I was afraid of that. Looks like my Cruzer Blades will be here Monday - one as a backup. Quote Link to comment
SLNetworks
For future reference, if you have a corrupt USB key and wonder why when you uncheck drive attributes and they don't stick - replace your USB key or format and try your old one, restore your backup (you made one, right?), transfer your license (if you replaced USB key), and then it'll work.
