jsteck
Caching question Hello and thank you in advance for your answers. I have just created a 12 bay raid and I am currently new to the 2 nvme of 250gb each I am at 6 bays I don't understand how the 2 caches work, moreover there is one, the first serves as a cache but the second is in a pool!!! I don't understand! but the most important thing is that I have 25to to move and as soon as the cache (is full knowing that in the media folder I have set the cache to yes!) once filled, it does not empty on its own! I waited 1 hour nothing!!! reboot nothing!!! The only way I found is to turn off the server and turn it back on! but is it possible to have a cache that empties over time (I come from the Synology world) for the moment with the same disk and nvme hardware, I have never had any blockages in my downloads from PC to Nas Or vice versa so like i said at the beginning thanks in advance Edited April 17, 2023 by jsteck Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
For initial server load we recommend disabling cache for that share(s). Quote Link to comment
jsteck
Okay but this exchange of very heavy files is really not moving fast! I am equipped in 10gbe and it barely turns at 65mo / sec ... in any case thank you for the answer Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
You can enable turbo write to help with array spped, no point in quickly filling up the cache then having to wait for the data to be moved to the array, it will take even longer in the end. Quote Link to comment
