February 15, 200818 yr Hi, I do need help from the community. A really weird thing happened to my system (link removed): After nearly two days of work I decided to stop the array. After the stop completed the screen still shows the array as stoppable and shows several unformatted drives to me. But they are not unformatted they are formatted and contain data. What can I do? Currently I'm offline. I fear to start the array. Any help is highly appreciated. Many thanks in advance. Harald
February 15, 200818 yr Hi Harald, I have had a similar problem on a few occasions, see my thread http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=1440.0. There's no need to panic, this is apparently causes when you stop the server whilst network connections are still present. This does need sorting out in my opinion though. You can restart your array, you may need to rebuild parity but the data will be ok (at least mine has been each time. After many years with unraid I'm still uneasy every time I have to do this, but it's always worked out ok. The option you want to check is the one where the data on your HDDs is unaffected. If no-one else has commented I'll post again later with the precise wording, I'm at work at the moment but it's something like "Disks will appear as new but data is unaffected". Good luck, Mark.
February 15, 200818 yr From my previous thread... A drive status of 'Unformatted' just means that system could not mount a reiserfs partition on the drive. Most of the time this is due to there really not being a reiserfs partition on the drive. Sometimes mount can fail for other reasons - we will try to fix this. They're on the case Mark.

It turns out that a mount (to one of my Terastations) was still on one of the drives that is part of the array. I had to umount and hit Stop again. Everything was on track then. Puh, what a shock in the morning. Harald
