August 21, 20232 yr Hello Unraid, I have a system with 7 disks of 4TB each and one as parity of 4TB. One disk in the pool of 7 has failed, and I want to install a 5TB disk as a replacement. However, the system is telling me to either use the larger disk as parity or try a swap. Can't I just use the 5TB disk as a replacement? Thank you for your assistance guys

The parity swap process is designed for exactly the situation you are in where you simultaneously upgrade the parity drive to a larger size and use the old parity drive to replace the failed drive.
