Unraid 6.12.4 crashes

Featured Replies

Hello!

I updated from 6.11.5 to 6.12.4 yesterday.
Unfortunately I had to find out in the morning that the server hung itself.

I've run into a couple of dockers and a VM.

Do you have to do something when you do the update?

Reinstall Docker? VM?

I hope that someone can help me there.

I didnt have hang ups like you did, my some of my links were dead on docker and the app store was rather laggy.  There are a lot of folks in the forums complaining of the new updates from 6.11 to 6.12.x and i had similar issues.  I was forced to downgrade back to 6.11.5 and everything works as normal.  Sorry if this does not help, but you may have to resort back to 6.11.5 until things are worked out.

@JorgeB I just ugraded from 6.11.5 to 6.1.4 about a week and half ago, since then my server is crashing every 2 or three days, at random times.

Tonight it happened at about 10:00 pm, I dont really see anything in the syslog around the time things locked up.

Nov 29 22:06:00 uServer kernel: macvlan_broadcast+0x10a/0x150 [macvlan]
Nov 29 22:06:00 uServer kernel: ? _raw_spin_unlock+0x14/0x29
Nov 29 22:06:00 uServer kernel: macvlan_process_broadcast+0xbc/0x12f [macvlan]

Macvlan call traces will usually end up crashing the server, switching to ipvlan should fix it (Settings -> Docker Settings -> Docker custom network type -> ipvlan (advanced view must be enabled, top right)), then reboot.

I thought I read the Macvlan issue was fixed in 6.12.4?

Does it matter when the call traces happen?  The ones shown above were immediately after the server rebooted and started back up, but there havnt been any since then.

It is, but to keep using macvlan you need to disable bridging for eth0, see the release notes, alternatively if you don't really need macvlan you can use ipvlan
