September 2, 20232 yr Hi, do I have bad cables? I started getting issues with multiple drives all at once but SMART seems to think (from what I can tell) that the drives are fine. Thank you. Edited September 2, 20232 yr by pkoasne
September 2, 20232 yr Community Expert It looks more like a power/connection problem, the only errors logged are with disk1, then it stopped logging, start with those cables and post new diags after array start.
September 2, 20232 yr Author I went through all the connections to everything. It appears to be stable now. I'll follow back up if needed. Thank you @JorgeB
September 4, 20232 yr Author @JorgeB issue came back. new logs attached. Thank you Edited September 4, 20232 yr by pkoasne
September 4, 20232 yr Community Expert Could still be a power/connection issue, but this LSI: 09:00.0 Serial Attached SCSI controller [0107]: Broadcom / LSI SAS3008 PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS-3 [1000:0097] (rev 02) Subsystem: Broadcom / LSI SAS9300-8i [1000:30e0] Is using a very old firmware, and both disabled disks are using it, upgrade firmware to latest.

Only if you are prepared to lose all updates to it that were made since it has been disabled. You would also have to rebuild parity so no other drive must have problems.
September 4, 20232 yr Author Hopefully last question for awhile. Can you help me find the correct firmware for the other card? I'm having trouble: Broadcom / LSI SAS2308 PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS-2 [1000:0087] (rev 05)
September 4, 20232 yr Author seems like there are still issues disk 7 seems to have read errors now but is not being shown as emulated Edited September 4, 20232 yr by pkoasne
September 4, 20232 yr Community Expert Solution Disk dropped offline, looks more like a power/connection issue.
September 4, 20232 yr Author Thank you for your time and help Jorge & itimpi. I ordered some new power cables to try.
