September 18, 20232 yr Hi all, after a cold restart of my unraid server (safeguards off), my unraid server does not reach the DNS server anymore, resulting unraid web offline (NETWORK: getaddrinfo ENOTFOUND mothership.unraid.netCLOUD: Socket closed), Dockers cannot be checked for updates and so forth. Logs are attached, but what can I do in order to restore it? Best wishes ur-adrian-diagnostics-20230918-1640.zip Edited September 18, 20232 yr by fir3drag0n
September 18, 20232 yr Community Expert Delete/rename /boot/config/network.cfg and reboot, that will revert the LAN settings to default DHCP, see if it helps.
September 18, 20232 yr Community Expert Then it suggests a network problem, try simplifying your network as much as possible, even if just for testing, connect the server directly to the router without any firewall, etc.
September 18, 20232 yr Community Expert Did you enter the same static dns server again? Duh, stupid me, its probably DHCP doing it. Anyway the dns server on 5.X.XXX.112 is dead Edited September 18, 20232 yr by Mainfrezzer
September 18, 20232 yr Community Expert Solution Try adding 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 as dns in unraids networksettings and see if that fixes it. The Server under 5.X.XXX.112 doesnt seem to have a dns server running
September 18, 20232 yr Community Expert you have to set it to static Or change the DHCP Server settings to not hand out the 5.x.xxx.112 server as dns server.
September 18, 20232 yr Author I set it to static and the DNS server is a valid server which responds if you ping it
September 18, 20232 yr Community Expert "Basic" dns server run on port 53 tcp/udp. A ping works over icmp. Those are 2 different shoes. If youre so eager to use that particular server as dns server, i would advise you to actually setup a working dns server on there
