thejinx0r
Hi, So I want to move unraid onto ESXi. But, right now, my hardware is not super fast. (amd e350 cpu with integrated video). I do plan to upgrade in the near future, but was wondering if migrating from the slow mobo that I have now to something with a core i7 would be a problem for the OSs that are running under the ESXi? BRiT
Make sure you check out the ESXi topics entirely to find out what works best BEFORE you purchase any new hardware. There are some chipsets and cpus which are required for optimal performance under ESXi, such as ones support VT-d and VT-Passthrough which rules out nearly all typical consumer motherboards but does include a wide variety of server motherboards. Ya. I'm still ironing out the details. But how do I know what I need exactly? Quote Link to comment
BRiT
Go to the ESXi Hardware compatibility list. Go to the ESXi forums. Go to the ESXi threads in the unRAID forums. Read all of those. Quote Link to comment
