Then I see both ports in network settings. Still somewhat puzzled about why it's not visible in slot 4. OK, no problem having the nic in slot 7. But I can't get the nic to work. One port says "check cable", the other I can't get communication going. Pretty sure the cable is ok, tested 3 different including one that worked with this nic on the former mobo. Note 2 is kind a strange. (If you drive in lane b, you have to drive in a). My understanding is that slot 7 only supports x16. The nic is x8, that's why I put it there in the first place. I move it back and see if I can get it in Network setting.
October 13, 20232 yr Author It can be on the bios level. No link. I tried disabling ASPM and changed some other setting, no luck. I´ll have a look at firmware etc. //
