NIC in System Devices and network.cfg file, but not in

Featured Replies

Network Settings.

Also, the nic is visible in bios. I deleted the the network.cfg file and restarted. No change.

NIC is Intel E810-XXV in "server2".

Happy for any help.

Try deleting network-rules.cfg and reboot.

I done that, but no change. Then I moved the NIC from slot 4 to slot 7. Then I see both ports in network settings. Still somewhat puzzled about why it's not visible in slot 4.

OK, no problem having the nic in slot 7. But I can't get the nic to work. One port says "check cable", the other I can't get communication going. Pretty sure the cable is ok, tested 3 different including one that worked with this nic on the former mobo.

Added diagnostics after I moved the nic.

No link detected on the 2nd port, this is not an OS/configuration issue.

I found this in the mobo manual. Note 2 is kind a strange. (If you drive in lane b, you have to drive in a). My understanding is that slot 7 only supports x16. The nic is x8, that's why I put it there in the first place. I move it back and see if I can get it in Network setting.

I tried disabling ASPM and changed some other setting, no luck. I´ll have a look at firmware etc.
