Rajahal
Rosewill REGD-TN439L0 Infrared Thermometer $18.99 + free shipping after promo EMCKAHC228 (expires 10/03/2011) I originally bought one for running heat tests on prototype designs, but I've found it quite useful in cooking as well. Generally just a fun little toy with some practical applications. Link to comment
Superorb
Also cool to aim at brake rotors on a car. You'd be surprised how how those suckers get! Link to comment
lewcass
I got one the last time Newegg had a deal. It's a fun toy tool to have around, not just for monitoring hardware temps either. I've used mine to check the effectiveness of my home and car AC and to find spots where my house's insulation is suboptimal. I expect lots of other uses will come to mind. Link to comment
burtjr
Very good deal. I typically use the one I have for various temp readings. It saved my but one day when towing. I thought my rear differential was getting too hot and sure enough this confirmed my fears. When I got back I bought an improved differential cover and put synthetic gear oil in. Problem solved.
