November 27, 20232 yr Hi all! One of my data hdd have died and i just have a sdd with the same size. I know that i cannot use the sdd to replace the failure disk and i'm worry to have the array without protection (i'm waiting for the new drive). There are any temporary scenario that i can use the sdd to give protection to array? All my disk have the same size as the sdd, so replacing one of them it's not an option. My array has 3 data disks and 1 parity disk (no cache drives) Thanks in advance
November 28, 20232 yr You could copy the data from the emulated disk to the SSD while unassigned, then do a new config with the SSD and re-sync parity.
