j5428
I have read that the write performance on Samsung HD753LJ is better than the WD7500AACS. Does anyone know if the size of the Samsung HD753LJ is bigger than the WD7500AACS (732,574,552) so it can be used as parity? Quote Link to comment
ljf
From my array (Newegg just dropped the price a few days after I ordered them) SAMSUNG HD753LJ 732,574,552 Quote Link to comment
SSD
I've noticed that different brands of 750G drives are each exactly the same size. Same goes for 500G drives. This was not the case with older 250G drives, which I've noticed are different sizes for diifferent manufacturers. This is a big help for unRAID users, because it doesn't make you jump through hoops like you would if you bought a drive a couple hundred meg larger than your parity! Quote Link to comment
WeeboTech
In the past, especially with maxtor, even the same brand of drives and close sibling model numbers were slightly different if purchased at different times. Used to cause me major grief if one of the drives failed. Quote Link to comment
