Ok so i have my unraid server for about ~6 months and it is rock solid (currently at 45 days up time restarted to update) however the one thing that i have noticed that is really bothering me is the degraded read/write speeds.

When i first made the server writes were about 30-40MB/s and reads would be ~ 80MB/s.

Currently when i first start transferring a file it bursts to about 20MB/s and slows to about 1.5-3ish .....my cable internet connection is faster....

1x WDG EARS 2TB Parity

2x WDG EAVS 1TB

1x WDG EARS 1.5TB

2X Seagate ST2000DL003-9VT166 2TB

 

Also i have a cheap (30$) 4 port sata expansion card in pci slot with only 1 drive hooked up so far could this be contributing to the problem?
