eXorQue
Hi, After moving my disks from one system to the other I added a 4TB disk to the parity set. I should've probably just replaced the old one instead of extending it with a second disk, but here we are. Then a data disk broke down, and I had to replace it. But as my 2TB parity is still there, it's not big enough. What would be a good way to go forward? I've added my diagnostics as an attachment. supermicro-diagnostics-20231218-1500.zip Quote Link to comment
trurl
Are you sure there was anything wrong with original disk3? Connection problems are much more common than drive problems, especially since you were recently replacing another disk and might have disturbed other connections. Quote Link to comment
eXorQue
Yes. And if not, the question remains when I want to replace my drives anyway. Edited December 18, 2023 by eXorQue Quote Link to comment

eXorQue
I'd like to remove it. How to do so? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Stop the array, unassign parity1, start the array, after that you can replace the disabled disk with a 4 TB disk. Quote Link to comment
eXorQue
I'm unable to start the array. After doing what you said (which was my first guess), I get the following issue: ``` Too many wrong and/or missing disks! ``` Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
You need to unassign the new disk3, only after parity1 is removed you can use assign that disk. 1 Quote Link to comment
eXorQue
Right! I did that and it works. Thanks a lot! Quote Link to comment
