December 25, 20232 yr Merry Christmas Guys, since Midnight I had Problems connecting to the Wifi with my phone because it couldnt verify my internet connection. After waking up and checking the problem I found my Pihole Docker and in fact whole Unraid Server to be unresponsive. I was able to ping the Server IP Address but wasnt able to connect to the System via the GUI. After some Troubleshooting with different PCs I pressed the Power Button to shutdwon the system, but the System wouldnt shutdwon (Fans still spinning after 30min). So I grabed my Spare Monitor and keyboard to connect to the Srever directly where i found this. Is there any way to save this or do I have to cut the power. And why isnt the Force Shutdown working? Thanks for the help in advance!
December 17, 20241 yr I have the same problem. So far I was just using the reset button, but I decided to investigate and wanted to check the log after a "clean" reboot, so I just spammed Ctrl Shift Del: it says it's rebooting, but nothing happens, the server stays on and unreachable Did you manage to find where your problem is/was coming from?
December 17, 20241 yr Author Sadly no I didn't manage to find a solution. I had to reset/turn off the PSU to stop the server. The only positive thing is it only happened one more time in 12 months.
December 17, 20241 yr Community Expert You should probably set up the Syslog Server to use the flash drive for storage. Then try to force a shutdown (Using the power switch or the SHUTDOWN button on the MAIN tab). Grab the syslog file and upload it in a new post. One thing to also try is to STOP the array on the MAIN tab and time the interval required to stop the array. Report back the result of that experiment as there are some settings if the time is longer than ninety seconds. If it does not stop at all, there is a problem with a Docker container, VM, or plugin.
