January 4, 20242 yr If you run both Unraid and Proxmox, Proxmox Backup Server is a VM that helps automate incremental backups of containers and VMs on the Proxmox platform. There were permission issues preventing this approach from backing up Proxmox VMs. For anyone experiencing issues with this, an excellent guide is available here describing how to get a fresh PBS VM on Unraid to work. I'm cross-referencing it here as this was a problematic scenario not well documented on either the Unraid or Proxmox sides.
