Unable to stop the array...

Featured Replies

Recently, I had a need to stop my unraid array to make some settings changes. After a couple of hours, it was still saying that it was trying to stop the array. I noticed in the lower left-hand corner, the status kept saying " Array Stopping•Retry unmounting disk share(s)". I rebooted the system, but I am having the same issue as i can't stop the array. I have attached a diagnostics dump and would appreciate any help.

Your cach disk is staying busy:

Jan 22 14:06:48 Unraid-1 emhttpd: shcmd (237): /usr/sbin/zpool export cache
Jan 22 14:06:48 Unraid-1 root: cannot unmount '/mnt/cache/system': pool or dataset is busy
Jan 22 14:06:48 Unraid-1 emhttpd: shcmd (237): exit status: 1
Jan 22 14:06:48 Unraid-1 emhttpd: shcmd (238): /usr/sbin/zpool export cachemirror
Jan 22 14:06:49 Unraid-1 emhttpd: shcmd (239): rmdir /mnt/cachemirror

Think about what is on your cache.  Things like the Docker Image?  Appdata?  Something is keeping it busy.

Boot in safe mode and see if you can stop the array.  Add things back a little at a time until it breaks to find which part of your system is keeping the cache busy.

Jan 22 14:06:28 Unraid-1 emhttpd: shcmd (205): umount /var/lib/docker
Jan 22 14:06:28 Unraid-1 root: umount: /var/lib/docker: target is busy.

Looks like docker image not unmounting is the main issue, re-test with v6.12.7 once it's out.

Thanks @JorgeB. I let it sit all night and this morning I was able to get the array to stop. I made my change (tried to join it to my MS AD test domain (didn't work)), and then tried to start the array. Now, it appears to be stuck at "starting services". It has been this way for several hours now. If it helps, I have attached a new diagnostics dump.

There are a lot of winbindd related errors, try reverting all settings you changed to defaults.

Will do... is there a best practices document for joining an UNRAID server to a Microsoft Active Directory Domain? I have not had any luck in doing so.

I believe there are some known issues with AD and the current releases, you can try this:

@JorgeB thanks for the suggestion. I have tried these as well, but with no luck. I'll keep trying.
