Root share with group permissions using Active Directory

Featured Replies

I was under the impression that it was possible to create local groups in Unraid. After some googling yesterday I realized that this feature is missing. However, I found a workaround which would be fine for me.

To also expand on this I usually create one share and delegated access to the root folders for different users. I.e:

MyShare\01 One\files.txt
User 1 has acces to MyShare and 01 One

MyShare\02 Two\files.txt
User 2 has access to MyShare and 02 Two

MyShare\03 Three\files.txt
User 3 has access to MyShare and 01 One, 02 Two, 03 Three

I found a solution for this here:

Has anyone tried this? How would it work with Microsoft NTFS and Linux Permissions (I don't remember the name for it)? Is this a bad idea?
