lamuerte
i have an intel d525, 4 gb mem, with a promise sata300 tx4 controller.. my sync rate is about 29mb.. time to complete at 43% was 620 minutes to go. I look in the bios settings, the motherboard sees the controller as sata300. looking in the sys log I notice the following: Oct 30 17:09:06 Babylon kernel: ata1: SATA max UDMA/133 mmio m4096@0xe0120000 ata 0xe0120380 irq 20 Oct 30 17:09:06 Babylon kernel: ata2: SATA max UDMA/133 mmio m4096@0xe0120000 ata 0xe0120280 irq 20 Oct 30 17:09:06 Babylon kernel: ata3: SATA max UDMA/133 mmio m4096@0xe0120000 ata 0xe0120200 irq 20 Oct 30 17:09:06 Babylon kernel: ata4: SATA max UDMA/133 mmio m4096@0xe0120000 ata 0xe0120300 irq 20 any help will be appreciated thx i'm including complete sys log parity drive is wd black 7200 rpm the rest are wd green drives. thank you for your help.. unraid-sys-log-10-3-2011.txt Link to comment

Could it be an issue with the partition 4K alignment on the EARS drives? is there a jumper for the drives? Are they manually aligned? Do an fdisk -l and let's see the partition tables. (or maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree). Link to comment
lamuerte
First thank you for your help Weebotech Here the partition information I never align , I did the preclear, i will check to see if they have jumpers.. Do they need the jumpers? if so what pins.. partiton-info.txt Link to comment
WeeboTech
What version of unRAID did you start with? Someone else may need to jump in as I'm not well versed in the partition alignment situation. Link to comment
lamuerte
started with version 4.7 and upgraded up to version 5. None of the drives have any jumpers just check... I'm a newbie so I apologize for the fragmented information. thx... Link to comment
dgaschk
The PCI bus will only support a single drive across all of the PCI slots at full speed. Link to comment
