November 4, 201114 yr Author OK, hard booted; something serious appears to be wrong I have nothing happening on the monitor hooked up to my box. Sorry; hard-booted before I read to grab the syslog. CD
November 4, 201114 yr Author I think the problem is my boot usb; it doesn't appear to have any actvity at the server! CD
November 4, 201114 yr Author Can't get to the console; can't telnet...when I reboot, I don't get any activity on the monitor and the usb doesn't appear to have any activity. This all started when I stopped the array, and tried to reboot from the console. I could tell the server never re-booted, and I haven't been able to reach it since then. I realize now I should have grabbed the usb and the syslog...but I grew impatient and tried to hard boot. The usb is fine, since when I plug it into my PC I can read it and it shows activity; but on the server, nothing. I'm thinking either something is wrong with my usb ports, and the server can't find its boot-up...or I've read the usb can somehow lose its boot files...and maybe that's why the usb doesn't have any activity? I'm not the expert though; what do you think? Most concerning I guess, is when I turn the server on, I get NOTHING at the monitor. Dead MoBo? But the NIC is blinking. CD
November 4, 201114 yr Author OK, update...it appears to be a PSU issue. Have it at my office, put a puny psu on it...just to fire-up the MoBo, not the drives...and the OS is starting up now. I can get to the console; any suggestions for what to do next...other than check my Corsair warranty? CD
November 4, 201114 yr Author OK...now I went back to my old PSU, and all appears to be well again. I'm going to leave the thread open, in case anyone has anything to add; like stuff I should be checking for now that I have access again. Or can venture a guess as to what in the hell happened...lol. Then I'll close the thread as solved. CD
