April 3, 20242 yr v6.12.4 The email notification received after a regular scheduled parity check had the subject line "Notice [UNRAID] - Parity-Check finished (0 errors) " which, according to the unraid GUI, is wrong, unless "errors" here is referring to something else. Event: Unraid Parity-Check Subject: Notice [UNRAID] - Parity-Check finished (0 errors) Description: Duration: 16 hours, 47 minutes, 6 seconds. Average speed: 132.4 MB/s Importance: warning versus This is potentially dangerous, as it means administrators won't be informed of sync errors unless they look at the GUI. Is this a bug? As a side note, there doesn't seem to be anywhere which indicates if these errors were "detected" or "corrected" (defined by how the parity check was run). Is this a feature request?
April 3, 20242 yr Author This is less of an issue but I've just noticed the duration is inconsistently reported between the two as well. The GUI shows "16 hr, 35 min, 56 sec" whilst the notification shows "16 hours, 47 minutes, 6 seconds". Comparing the duration of random historical parity checks against old email notifications confirms this isn't a one-off. Edited April 3, 20242 yr by Omid Edit: removed weird mailto: links

Is this a feature request If you install the Parity Check Tuning plugin then even if you do not use its other features the parity history entries will be enhanced to tell you whether a parity check was correcting or not (and how it was initiated). If the plugin is installed then any messages from it about duration should also be correct. I think the standard Unraid release sometimes gets confused between the last check run and the one before that. I expect this to be fixed in a forthcoming release.
