503 Service Temporarily Unavailable after 6.12.9 update

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I decided to dive in and upgrade to 6.12.9. Install went fine and the box came back up. SSH, docker and all services are working, but the web GUI is giving me a 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable. I have rebooted the box a few times with no difference. It redirects all links to /login, but I think that's expected behaviour.

I'm at a loss - don't know where to start troubleshooting this.

Diagnostics attached.

Thanks

Apr 5 22:03:08 knox nginx: 2024/04/05 22:03:08 [error] 13327#13327: *286 limiting requests, excess: 20.408 by zone "authlimit", client: 192.168.10.50, server: , request: "GET /login HTTP/1.1", host: "192.168.10.10"

I assume 192.168.10.50 is your PC? Is it the same with a different client device? You can try a phone.

Yes, that's my PC. Strangely enough - I connected my WireGuard VPN (while still on my home WIFI) and the WebUI works, disconnected, same issue. Away from the house today and it works just fine over VPN.

I'll try it again when I get home - but any idea what would trigger this?

Not really, but looks like a config issue.

TL;DR - Solution was to close all tabs in my browser that had Unraid open.

Sorry for reviving a dead post, however, I just experienced this exact issue. I am running 6.12.10 and needed to restart Unraid due to a (presumably) separate issue.

I found this thread:

I ran diagnostics and found a very similar message about nginx limiting requests.

Next, I simply closed the 2 or 3 tabs that I had opened to Unraid. The web GUI immediately started working again after that.

This issue seems to be related to those tabs remaining open. In my instance, the Unraid tabs were open on my desktop before I rebooted the Unraid server. Once the server was back online, the login page seemed to load just fine, I submitted my credentials, and then I immediately got the HTTP 503 (maybe the login page was just cached, not sure). My shares were still all online, docker services were still running, I was just unable to access the Unraid web GUI.

Just had the same thing happen on V7.0B2. Never had it happen before. Next time I'll try closing all tabs before rebooting.
