April 23, 20242 yr Hello, I upgraded the MB, RAM, CPU and added a video card for my Unraid server. I keep all the drives (parity, data drives and two nvme drives for the pool. All went well, but now one of the pool drives is missing, they are both recognized by the BIOS. I get a message NA smart passed, device not present. What's going on? I made sure to connect the nvme drives in the same slots as before. What I'm missing, what should I do to bring both drives available for the pool? I'm new to Unraid so I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge. Thanks for your help in advance.
April 24, 20242 yr Community Expert Only one NVMe device is being detected by Linux: 21:00.0 Non-Volatile memory controller [0108]: Samsung Electronics Co Ltd NVMe SSD Controller SM981/PM981/PM983 [144d:a808] Subsystem: Samsung Electronics Co Ltd SSD 970 EVO/PRO [144d:a801] Kernel driver in use: nvme Kernel modules: nvme This is not a software issue, try swapping both NVMe devices and see where the problem follows.
April 24, 20242 yr Author Solution Thank you JorgeB. It seems that that my cache drive was on the last breathe, it's no longer recognized by the BIOS and the second drive works on the slot were the one is missing. All I hope that I will find how to rebuild my pool or simply delete the existing pool and recreate one with two new ssd.
April 25, 20242 yr Community Expert If the pool was redundant it should mount with the remaining device, if it doesn't you can post new diags.
April 25, 20242 yr Author Thank you for your help JorgeB. I manage to transfer all data from mirror cache onto the array. Installed two new nvme drives, build the cache in mirror mode with larger capacity of nvme. Transferred the data from the array into the new cache and updated the file system of the cache. All is working now.
