Teeman Posted June 2 Posted June 2 1) I would like for the cache drives to automatically do a secure delete while moving to the main array, is there a way to do this? 2) Is there a way to make a second pool that will not be used for cache, that I can use only for docker containers? Thanks Quote

As far as I know: NO. (and why want somebody wants to do this? One nice feature of UNRAID is to be able to add a drive to the array WITHOUT automatically erasing it. So you can move in existing data that is instantly available without the need to copy it back in later) I guess only the BIOS (UEFI) offers the "secure erase" feature (with the big warning that this may brick some drives and render them useless). 1 hour ago, Teeman said: 2) Is there a way to make a second pool that will not be used for cache, that I can use only for docker containers? Yes, for every share you can select IF a cache pool is used or not. The first pool is automatically given the name "cache", but that is just a name, not a function. You can add many pools, name them as you wish and select them as "primary storage" for every share seperatly. So if you create a pool "pool2" and switch the docker service to use a directory and use a path to pool2 to this, the data will only be created there Here my pool is named "force510cruical" and the paths are "docker" and "appdata". This SSD is only used for Dockers. Quote
Teeman Posted June 2 Author Posted June 2 (edited) I don't think you understood my first question. I mean a secure delete of individual files... aka "wipe". Not an entire secure erase of the entire cache drive. I just want it to do a "secure move", instead of a normal mv/rm. I want it to use something like wipe or shred. Edited June 2 by Teeman Quote

This is not a feature that Unraid supports. Quote
