SATA card drivers

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently purchased a PCIe SATA expansion card for my server so I can add a couple of drives. Unfortunately, the drives are not showing up, which leads me to suspect the drivers are missing. I bought the card on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BCKK5D3J?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) where it is listed as being supported by Linux, so I'm assuming (dangerous, I know!) that they are just not present in the Unraid distro.

So, my question is, how do I add them? Or should I just return the card and try to get an alternative (in which case, can anyone suggest a card that is know to work?

TIA

Should work out of the box... do you see the card in System Devices?

I brought the same card and ran into the same issue. Did you get this resolved in the end?

I recently bought a SATA card as well but had trouble with it when connected to the x1 slots on a Dell motherboard. It would work in the x16 slot, but not the x1 slots. I have replaced that CPU motherboard and RAM with something newer and it works in the X4 slots on this motherboard.

For some reason the x1 slots wouldn't power up during boot. The lights on the card would turn on briefly but go back out. That only affected the SATA card though. I had a network card installed as well and it worked fine
