Empty file after errors in parity check

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I am confronted to a problem, two days ago i had a power outage, and when i start the server, it started a parity check. This was not a problem as my hard drives spin down after 15 min unused, but while there was a parity check another power outage occured and this time all the drives were running. Right now the second parity check is finished and i can't access the file that are on my array, like my movies BUT my Plex server can play them so i assume my files are there but the path to them is somehow broken. Is there a way to get all my files to appear again considering all the errors in the parity check ?

I plan to buy an inverter as soon as i've resolved this problem.

Your screenshots show disk4 disabled, but your diagnostics don't agree with that.

Which is the current state of your system?

Did you take the screenshots before the diagnostics?

Or did you take the diagnostics before the screenshots?

What did you do in between to make them disagree?

Also, your diagnostics says only disk 1 has much data on it, but your 1st screenshot shows a significant amount of data on disks 2 and 3 also.

Diagnostics shows you have user shares though, so what files you have should be accessible.

Did you reformat anything after those screenshots?

It's my fault, i took the diagnostic in the flash file and didn't pay attention to the fact that it was old, i'll put the actual diagnostic here. The current state of my system is what is shown on the screenshots.

There are errors in most disks, so Unraid cannot emulated them, reboot and post new diags after array start.

Thanks a lot, all the files are there now. Do you have an explanation for why the reboot allow me to view the files now ?

Emulated disk4 is mounting but empty, looks like that is expected, so you can rebuild on top.

Previous errors could have been caused by a power/connection issue or a controller problem, so see if that happens again.

Thanks, i'll rebuild the disk in that case
