New Server/Disk - Errors

Featured Replies

I just received my server today, installed three disks, and setup unraid.  My setup is as follows:

HP Proliant N40L Server

Bay 1: 1 TB Seagate (previously used disk, reformatted)

Bay 2: 1 TB Seagate (new disk, just received today)

Bay 3: Empty (awaitiny a used 1 TB disk after I back up contents to the new array)

Bay 4: 250 GB (Disk that came with my N40L server)

Booting from Kingston 4GB USB Thumbdrive

After installing and formatting the disks above through the GUI, the new Seagate disk in bay 2 started showing errors.  The errors eventually stop and the full capacity of the disk is writeable, should I ignore these errors, reformat it, or try something else?

I'm not sure what to do with it at this point.  Any advice is appreciated.

I just swapped my parity disk and disk1 through the gui, reformatted, and now everything seems to be functioning fine without any errors.  The parity-sync is taking place now and is looking good.

Did you preclear the seagate drive?
