July 19, 20241 yr Hi, I am a new Unraid user and created my 1st NAS server. I added a Share Access User. I tried logging in but it failed. I used the same laptop & browser as I've used to login using the root user. I reviewed the help files and I don't see what I have done wrong.
July 19, 20241 yr Community Expert Only root has access to the webUI and command line and should not be used for file access. Users created in the webUI only have access to files over the network. Are you trying to access a public share?
July 19, 20241 yr Author ...all this is new to me so apologize in advance for using wrong terminology! How do I login as share access user without the webUI? I created a share called "media" SMB Public, Storage Array. Do I need to adds a "Docker"...new to me
July 19, 20241 yr Community Expert Assuming you are using Windows, you can login by browsing the network or typing \\tower\media in Windows run/explorer.
July 19, 20241 yr Author I'm starting to understand... - need to access via my home network I am using a laptop with linux mint installed - a relatively new linux user as well - lol. I will try using "Connect to Server" I also have a laptop with windows and can try your suggestion on that as well. Thanks for the help!
