January 17, 201214 yr After getting all my new hardware together and fixing some minor issues, I upgraded to 5 beta 14 today. Upon starting the array it wanted to do a parity check, so I let it. That seems to be going fine. Then I read I need to run the "New Permissions" utility. I have done that. So far I still cannot access my old shares or even the flash drive. My Shares tell me I do not have permission, and the flash drive says it is a location that does not exist. Currently all shares are set to Export: Yes and Security: Public. I only have root as user. Is there a way to check if the "New Permissions" utility is done yet? Have I missed a step somewhere?

If so, reboot windows
January 17, 201214 yr Author Yes. Windows 7. Okay....going down for a reboot. I'll be back momentarily.
January 17, 201214 yr Author Okay. I can now access the flash drive. But, I still cannot access my old shares.
January 17, 201214 yr You sure you have done the new permissions utility right? Otherwise do it again, and then again reboot windows
January 17, 201214 yr Author I've canceled my parity check (I just did one yesterday after all) and re-run the script. I am just sitting on the page watching it run now. When it finishes I'll post back my results.
January 17, 201214 yr Author Wooohooo. Second run did the trick! Windows reboot not necessary. unMenu here I come!
