[SOLVED] unraid died - can't get web menu, nor do I see it my network places

Featured Replies

I'm running windows 7 64 bit and have had unraid (4xx series) for awhile without issues.

Today, my router decided to error out, so I reset it and re-configured it and am up and running with internet and my other network devices, but CANNOT figure out why the unraid tower isn't seen at all within my Windows 7 network, nor can I get to the web interface anymore.

The tower seems to boot ok from the USB stick and after I login (root) at the console, I still can't see unraid anywhere within network places and the web interface.

When I try to go to the web interace (http://unraid/main.htm) I get a 404 error.

I've attached a copy of my syslog that I pulled from the flashdrive after doing a powerdown from the console. This is my first run in with an un-raid issue, so any help is appreciated.

I've power cycled all routers and modems, as well as re-started my windows 7 workstation a few times.

The unraid tower still seems to boot ok (just by seeing the console after I login with root).

Still not able to see unraid at all within network places. Also cannot get to it by typing tower or unraid in IE or firefox. When trying to get to the unraid web interface, I still get a 404.

Other than my syslog from the 1st post, what else can I provide to get some assistance here? Any other things I can try in Windows 7 64 bit?

Did the NIC on your unRAID server die? Are there any network activity lights on the NIC?  Do you have a laptop and a crossover cable to try a direct connection to the server without the router?

By all appearances, your unRAID server is not talking at all on the network.

There are network activity lights on the NIC on the unraid box. I have 2 routers, and I tried both of them..plugging the unraid box into either and seeing what I get. On both tries, I have lights on the unraid NIC, as well as activity lights on the router LAN indicator (EG: plugged it into lan 1 or lan 3 on the router and I see activity lights flashing on the router as well.)

I don't thtink I have a crossover cable, but I get one today and plug the unraid into my main computer with that crossover cable. I'll reply back with what happens there.

Thank you.

Apparently it was simply my router that decided to take a dump. Went out and bought a new ASUS wireless N router, configured it and UNRAID connected and all data intact.

So luckily, it was NOT the UNRAID at all. Thank god!

Thanks for the help on this.
